Crazies...

It seems like the crazies are starting to come out of the wood work. Either that or the people reporting the news are ignoring the filters and starting to report on things that we wouldn't normally hear about. Which might be my own little conspiracy theory.

A while back a friend turned me on to the BBC. She told me that if I really wanted to know what was going on in the US then I should get my news from somewhere else. With that advice we got on the subject of how the news is fluffed and not fully reported here. Not until recently did I ever notice American news reports mention the UN. It was always "the US is" instead of "the UN is". No wonder so many people here think we do everything and feel so neglected when no one runs to our aid. There's a lot of people that don't even realize that other countries helped us when 9/11 happened. I do count volunteers flying in from other countries to help clear the rubbish as help.

Now that I've ranted..

The US seems to be in a remodeling stage in more of a way than it has during any new President's reign. People are becoming more and more aggravated with new taxes and less jobs to pay them with. Some blame it on bigger corporations outsourcing their production to China and other countries with low production costs. Others blame it on big business actually running our government through donations and lobbying. I believe that one wouldn't exist without the other. Some people are starting to get pretty upset by it all.

Last night a man was so upset he traveled from California to the Pentagon to express himself by opening fire on two security guards when they asked for his credentials. Apparently his parents knew about his mental instability but there's not much you can do when the offspring is 36yrs old and going in an out of jails. Some bleeding hearts might say that the "system" failed him. I don't believe the system should be accountable for people.

Last month a man flew his small airplane into an IRS building. At least this guy had some stable thoughts. He just did it all wrong. Sometimes I believe that people can think about something to such a point that it makes them crazy. It makes them think about it to a point that they believe everything they think to be 100% true. Which brings about the Manifesto of Joseph Stack III. Though some of the thoughts seem to be solid, they are completely one sided and seem to be more reasons for him to believe he hasn't done anything wrong. Maybe it was shame or just pure distaste that made him do it, either way, it's just plane crazy.

These are just two of the crazy things that have hit the national news lately. In local news there has been many other little incidents that you don't hear about. If it doesn't have an effect on the national level it doesn't really get spread out to the rest of us. It does seem that the US is going through some major changes. Whether they'll be good is still to be seen.

As for all the changes and political stances, I'm not getting into all that. I don't want to end up being crazy and crashing my big wheel into any street signs.

The Mother's Six...

In recent news I found an article about six young men that were refused entry to a Chicago nightclub. Although I don't know anything about the nightclub I'm left to believe that one of their security procedures includes a dress code. Which includes no baggy jeans.

Here's why I believe no baggy clothing is a great idea. Have you ever had a jacket or purse stolen while at a club? Baggy clothing is a great place to hide those things. Yes, people should be more aware of their belongings in a club. Have you ever heard of someone pulling a gun or knife out at a club? Baggy clothes are a great place to hide these things. Yes, clubs should have metal detectors at the door. However, do you want to remove all the metal from your body and remove your shoes before entering a bar or nightclub?

I've turned away a lot of people due to how they dress. If you dress like one of your hip hop, drug dealing, gangsta, murdering idols then your ethics probably aren't too far behind. So why would I want to encourage you to come into my establishment? Why would I want to invite something into the establishment that might cause strife with the other patrons?

So then as the story goes, these students aren't looking to sue the establishment but to make an example out of them. They think that by making this nightclub help to dissolve this "racist profiling" at the door of clubs it might help to make the world a better place. I guess it's good to have an optimistic view on the world while you're young.

According to one of the young men (Regis Murayi, 21), he has been targeted by such dress codes before at different locations. Maybe this is due to the fact that he constantly dresses in this same manner all the time. I wonder what would happen if he quit dressing in that manner. Do you think he wouldn't be "targeted" in such a manner? After all, the world is out to get you if you believe it is. Why should you change who you are or how you dress to fit in with the world? I don't even want to get into the whole blue collar versus corporate subject. There's an entire example of why people conform to get farther in life.

But you sir, should not have to conform or change your clothes to go to a bar, yet alone a nightclub. To think that an overpriced nightclub wants you to wear specific clothing to fit in with the environment they are trying to provide. Just think if they were having a Hawaiian shirt night and you showed up in a Kimono...

As for the "race card", does it really matter? Notice this whole time I never mentioned that all six of the students from a different city were black. I also didn't mention that a white student that appeared in the same pants got in. I never mentioned it before because I don't believe it matters. Now I'm not naive, I understand that race does still matter to some backward rednecks deep in the south.

Here's the other reason that I'm mentioning the students race. It was six black students yet after they were denied a white student was allowed into the establishment wearing the same jeans. So why isn't it the Mother's Seven? Since it became a subject of race the white kid isn't important or does the white kid think it's a joke and doesn't want to be involved?

"A lot of times, baggy-jeans policies are used, in my opinion, to reject a certain demographic, mostly black men, from being allowed entry into certain places," Murayi said.
Although this is your opinion it's a jaded opinion. To me this opinion is just as racist as they are trying to pretend this situation is. To exclude all other races from your statement is to say that a singular race is better than all others. Isn't there already an organization that does that? Doesn't it have three K's in it's name?
Murayi says he tried pleading with the bouncer and a manager.
Pleading can be seen in different ways. It could be on your knees begging, which could show how pathetic you are for trying to get into a club. Then again, it could be, "Man, that's total bullshit. What's your name? I'll get you fired." You don't believe this? Do my job for a month. You'll see just how dumb people can be to get into a club. If you're pathetic at the door what's to say that you don't get worse inside? With the mentality that you just "got one over" on the doorman you'll probably act like even more of a douchebag inside the club.

All dress codes are really up to the doorstaff. Granted it's a blanket statement used to weed out the negative parts and it's not perfect. Yet if a friend of the establishment shows up wearing all the bad things I'd say there's a 95% chance that they're going to get in. Just like all rules at a club they're there to save the establishments ass in certain situations. They can be bent in any manner to help out the employees or management.

So do I believe this is all a bunch of crap? Yes I do.

Maybe this was a publicity stunt? Maybe this is supposed to be something to distract Chicago from the highest murder rates in the country due to gang violence? Maybe this just helps people understand why Chicago didn't get the Olympics?

Until every establishment is fully equipped with id scanners that pull up every persons criminal background then doorstaff need to use their judgment. Each person's judgment is based off of their personal history. If this means some people get denied for what they believe is a bad reason then so be it. Go to the next club and see how it goes.

If you are like Mr. Murayi and have had a series of refusals from several different clubs due to your clothing then think about changing your clothing options. Come prepared like most other people and have a change of clothes in your car. If you're coming in from out of town then realize that you need to dress appropriately as deemed by society not your local fashionista.

Most of all, if you're an upstanding member of society and don't believe that the world is out to get you. Get your head out of your ass and realize that there are more important things going on in the world other than you not being able to get into a club.

Buy your guns now!...

I'm sure by now you've heard about all these gun enthusiasts running out to buy guns after Obama got elected. It's due to Obama being supportive of the 2nd Amendment but also supportive of gun bans.

There are talks that Obama might reinstate the semi-automatic assault rifle ban that was enacted in 1994 under the Clinton administration and expired in 2004. Personally, I don't really see a reason to have that type of a gun in your house. However, I do believe you should have the right to own one.

I also believe that it should be ok to carry a pistol. Maybe not everyone should be able to but at least the people that are willing to go through the background checks and certain training. There are certain areas in the nation that open carry is legal. From what I've seen crime rates have dropped in those areas. Who's going to try and jump you if they think you might have a gun too? Now their mortality is on the line as well as yours.

For people that have the "no guns in a household with children", I have this to say. Take the initiative to teach your kids gun safety. Or keep the guns somewhere where your kids can't get to them. This is what they make gun safes for. Guns don't need to be left out and loaded. Use your head. If your not smart enough to keep your kids safe from the items that keep you safe then a phrase comes to mind.

"Thinning of the herd."

7 Deadly Sins - Remixed.

If you haven't heard yet, there's some new sins to look out for. That's right. Pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth... You have company.

Pollution, Drugs, Social Inequality, and Genetic Manipulation have now reached the level of Deadly Sin.

I understand that with time some things need to be revised, some things other than religion. I mean honestly, if your religion is based on a 2,008 year old story then how can you change it if it's supposed to be true? Unless you just want to add on new chapters here and there.

Granted, the primary character of any religion is supposedly a constant in every day life. So I guess it could lay down some new ground rules every once in a while. That is if it actually was here and could speak to everyone or at least one person. But then wouldn't everyone think that one person is crazy? Or maybe everyone would be envious of that person for being able to talk to that character. Oh wait, that's a sin...

So to all the ladies and gentlemen that have every had any type of cosmetic surgery guess what? Your going to hell. Any woman that has ever used birth control, your going to hell. Any person that has ever partook in drugs, your going to hell. If you have a business and thus made your life better than your neighbors, your going to hell. If you've ever thrown a cigarette or any type of trash, no matter the size, out of the window of your car, your going to hell.

It kind of makes me wonder. Is there a cushion period here? I mean since these are new Sins do you get a trial time period? Do any of your actions before now count? Cause just yesterday I worked a full day of work and made more money than the bartender. I also threw a cigarette but out the window. I even took a shower with age defying soap (not really but I hope you get the point). That's three of the new sins in just one day! I'm fucked!!

With all these new rules I have a good feeling that everyone will be going to hell pretty damn quick. And we all know what happens when Hell is full. When Hell fills up, the dead will walk the Earth. Which then brings up the whole Zombie subject. Will they be illegal aliens? Will they get equal pay? There will be a whole new set of problems. I just can't wait...

Feel free to check out some of the other articles that I've found.

The Grace of God or Dog??

There is a very small amount of things that annoy me away from work. One of them is when people try to say that something wouldn't have happened without God. Now, I'm not a religious person in many ways. I don't subscribe to a certain thought about what deity represents good or which one represents bad. I know there's a good and bad for every situation and I try to stay on the good side. This being said, I don't necessarily believe in deities or stories handed down for thousands of years.

But here's what gets me. Recently I've started reading a lot of news stories on the internet from a few of the major cities. I'm a dog lover, I grew up with Labrador's, cocker spaniels, and we even had an American Bulldog which is one of the loving-est dogs but he could be angry if someone was doing something they shouldn't be. I don't want to go into the full story of the breed but there is some pitbull in the bloodline somewhere. So when I see another story about a pitbull attacking or someone trying to get the breed banned I read it.

I can understand why people would target pitbulls. They have a slight reputation for being very mean dogs. Then again, I've seen smaller and bigger dogs that can be just as mean. The pitbull just has the jaw power to actually break your bones.

Now, in this news story a 3 year old pitbull ran into a neighbor's yard, through their locked screen door, and clamped onto the face of an 11 year old labrador. The lady that owned the labrador, and her fiance, grabbed a couple wooden tv dinner tables and swatted at the pitbull. When that didn't work the lady grabbed her dog and started pulling on him and shaking him. Then By the Grace of God... the pitbull let go.

After the attack the owner did the right thing. He put the dog down. The dog attacked unprovoked and it could do it again. Next time it could be a child or another dog or anyone. Now the lady is on a mission to make the attack rate drop from 3 attacks to 1 or 2. (Note: The attack rate is currently 3. Which means if a dog violently attacks anything 3 times it's put to sleep.) She's even commented that she will focus on pitbulls if she has to.

Now here's my problem with all of this.
  1. The pitbull's owner was an idiot for letting the dog out without it being on a leash or having a muzzle on.

  2. The lady and her fiance swatted at the pitbull. In that case, you don't swat, you bash that thing over the head. There might be a life on the line.

  3. Some people think they have to try and change the world because their world got rocked a little. I won't disagree with changing the violent attack laws but I'd suggest that the situations are looked at a little closer not the breed. Why jump on the bandwagon and get breed specific? Dogs will act the way they are trained. If it grows up loved, it will be loving. If it's brought up to protect and be angry, then it will protect and be angry.

  4. Last thing you really want to do when your dog is clamped down by a bigger more powerful dog? Grab it and start pulling on it and shaking it. Your making the wounds bigger, deeper and worse.

  5. God had nothing to do with the other dog letting go. You somehow got the dog to let go. Take credit for your actions.
Everyone has their own beliefs. I won't sit here and put them down for the simple reason that everyone needs something to believe in to belong. It's what keeps a lot of people going. So believe what you want to believe until it comes to a society as a whole.

At that point, you should really think about what your trying to do or say because someone will have the exact opposite belief and call you out on it.

Breed specific legislation is something we destroyed for humans a long time ago.
